Michael van Gerwen continued his incredible run of form by hitting two perfect legs on his way to beating Ryan Murray in the third round of the UK Open qualifying event in Wigan.

The Dutchman became only the second player in the history of darts to hit two nine-dart finishes in one match.

Fellow Premier League contender Gary Anderson ended van Gerwen's 45 match winning streak last week after a 6-6 draw.

Van Gerwen will face Jelle Klaasen in Leeds on February 16th, as the two Dutchmen come face to face in the Premier League.

16-time world champion Phil Taylor was the other player to hit a pair during his victory over James Wade in the 2010 Premier League Darts final.

In typical Taylor fashion, he looked calmer than ever as he stepped up to complete his second, and most impressive, nine darter. "I've won every title in the PDC and I don't think I can ever do better than this" Taylor said after the match.
