Following a picture of Nate Diaz looking huge following a workout with Jean-Claude Van Damme emerging online today, Conor McGregor has decided to respond in a series of tweets.
'Notorious' seems desperate for a rematch with his UFC 196 conqueror, which was of course the match we were supposed to see at UFC 200 before all that 'retirement' bullshit led to the match being pulled and many of us wondering whether we would see the Irishman in the UFC octagon again.
Diaz's picture seems to have found a fan in his UFC 196 adversary though, who responded with a tweet of "I love it!" when the photo of the Diaz brothers and Jean-Claude Van Damme was brought to his attention. Although the UFC Featherweight champion seems to love the fact that the fan who shared the picture seems to think McGregor should skip the rematch, rather than step into the cage with Nate, again.
This began a series of replies to tweets questioning McGregor on Stockton's finest, who famously tapped him out in Las Vegas back in March.
Whether McGregor will get his unification bout at the end of the year remains to be seen. There's still no word from Dana White on which event McGregor will return. UFC 201,202 and 203 have all been strongly rumoured but as of yet nothing is confirmed. Mouth watering bouts with Rafael Dos Anjos and a rematch with Jose Aldo are still on the table after a potential Diaz rematch, so there's plenty of money to be made for both sides.
