Former reigning UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre revealed that he is no longer contracted with the UFC.
St-Pierre was on The MMA Hour when he announced the surprising revelation declaring; "I'm a free agent." While adding; "It was like a shock, because we felt like we were making progress, we were almost there."
The 35-year-old employed lawyer James Quinn to terminate his contract after the promotion did not meet a deadline to offer him a fight. He was working on a new deal with the leading MMA organisation until the $4 billion sale. The new owners subsequently pulled out of the deal.

GSP went on a hiatus following his UFC 167 victory over Johny Hendricks back in 2013 where he narrowly defended his title by eking out a split-decision prompting to vacate the title.
The Canadian remains one of the greatest ever fighters to compete inside the Octagon but is now free to sign with any other promotion.
