Eddie Alvarez was not present at the UFC 205 post-fight press conference though did a few interviews but for the most part has kept relatively quiet since losing his UFC lightweight title until tonight posting a classy message on social media.
The Philly-fighter was defending the UFC title following capturing the belt in July blasting Rafael dos Anjos inside one round, and made the first defence over the weekend at the historic UFC 205.
But the ex-Bellator champion came unstuck against Conor McGregor as the Irishman became the first fighter in the promotions history to hold two titles in two divisions, simultaneously.

Alvarez succumbed to McGregor's power including a series of stinging left-hands eventually being put away in the second round. The self-proclaimed 'underground king' gave props to the newly-minted lightweight champion in a heartfelt Instagram post.
Class act!
