Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson has delivered a powerful speech calling out US president Donald Trump for his failures as a leader amid the George Floyd protests.

Mass protests have continued to spread around the world in recent days following the death of Floyd on Monday 25 May.

Many have since criticised Donald Trump's handling of the protests, including WWE wrestler and Hollywood actor Johnson, who has hit out at the president in his latest social media post.

The 48-year-old opened with the message: "Where are you? Where is our leader?"

Here is the full eight-minute version from The Rock's official Instagram account. Powerful stuff.

Johnson wrote the following alongside his video.

"Our country is crippled and on its knees, begging to be heard and pleading for change. Where is our compassionate leader?" he said.

"The leader who unifies and inspires our country at our most painful time when we need it the most. The leader who steps up and takes full accountability for our country and embraces every color in it. The leader who picks our country up off its knees and says you have my word - we got this - and together, change will happen.

"Where are you? Because we're all here. Maybe one day that galvanizing leader will emerge. Either way, the process to change has already begun."

Disturbing video footage of the arrest showed Floyd being led out on to the pavement in handcuffs before being placed on the ground face-down.

Police officers could be seen holding Floyd down, with officer Derek Chauvin placing his knee on his neck - prompting Floyd to speak out to the officers, telling them: "I can't breathe."

He was later pronounced dead in hospital.

Three other police officers have since been charged with aiding and abetting a murder over his death.
