The fallout from Russia's huge doping scandal will be far reaching and go on for sometime yet but one athlete falling foul of the rules is being ordered by the London Marathon to return her prize money after winning in 2010.

Russian long distance runner Liliya Shobukhova came through the Mall in 2010 to win the London Marathon from fellow Russian Inga Abitova however if you look at the official records now the winner is Ethiopia's Aselefech Mergia because both the European athletes were stripped of their positions because of doping.

Shobukhova was banned for 38 months with all of her results from 2009 were annulled, also stripping her of victories in the 2009, 2010 and 2011 Chicago Marathons. And she has now been ordered by the British High Court to repay her £377,000 of prize money from her 2010 win and 2011 second place.

The chief executive of London Marathon Events Ltd, Nick Bitel, informed the media that they now require a judgement from the Russian courts to get their money back saying, "The next step is to get the judgment enforced in Russia. It will be a long and difficult process but we will pursue it as we are determined that cheats should not benefit."

Bitel also revealed where any recovered money will go adding, "Any money we get back will be redistributed to the athletes that Shobukhova cheated out of their rightful dues."

The 38 year-old athlete has a life ban from London and the other five world major marathons.
