CM Punk's move from WWE to MMA after two years' training was always going to be widely criticised if he made even the slightest mistake.
He took on Mickey Gall last night at UFC 203. Gall, a Brazilian jiu-jitsu brown belt, showed no mercy. CM Punk tapped to a rear naked choke by the fighter at Quicken Loans Arena.
In the end, Punk's first fight lasted 134 seconds, with stats showing he attempted six strikes, no significant strikes, no knockdowns, no takedowns and no submission attempt.

However, he's been more than gracious in defeat, telling fans that he will continue pursuing his dream.
After the fight, he said: "In life, you go big or you go home," reports Yahoo!, "I just like to take challenges. It's a hell of a mountain to climb, and I didn't get to the summit today. But that doesn't mean I'm going to give up. It doesn't mean I'm going to stop."
His inspirational words hit home with a lot of people, including Hulk Hogan.
Gall was also pretty sound about the whole thing, saying: "There are a lot of people, not just in the MMA community but a lot of people, they hate too much, man.

"Fuck the hate. We'll all be dead in 100 years. Let's love each other. Fuck that hate."
