CM Punk's long awaited UFC and MMA debut could finally be nearing closer.
As well as his debut, the fight could be featured on the same card as the Conor McGregor vs Nate Diaz rematch, which has been tentatively scheduled for UFC 202 on August 20th.

Punk was expected to compete at UFC 199 or 200, but a recurring back problem derailed such plan. The 37-year-old is expected to take on Mickey Gall, who earned his first UFC win back in February which secured his spot opposite Punk.
Gall is eager to step inside the octagon with the former WWE champion, speaking to SFLC Podcast; "Let me tell you, I hope it's soon. I think it's going to be this summer, which I can do. I can wait."
The 2-0 fighter also added; "I'm training and I'm getting better and what I can't wait for is to get my fight with CM Punk, beat CM Punk and then get started with the UFC roster."
If these plans come to fruition, UFC 202 could eclipse UFC 200 in terms of pay-per-view sales and gate receipts. The eagerly anticipated rematch along with the equally anticipated debut of Punk would land the organisation an enormous amount of money.
Punk's impending debut has been delayed twice before, let's hope it's third time lucky.
