BREAKING: Lewis Hamilton Takes Pole Position At British GP

Lewis Hamilton will start tomorrow's British Grand Prix 11 points behind his teammate Nico Rosberg in the battle for the Driver's Championship but ahead of the German on the grid.

Last week at the Austrian Grand Prix Hamilton was booed on the podium after his collision with Rosberg, that was the title leader's fault, cost the German the victory and a podium place whilst Hamilton won the race.

That win put him just 11 points behind Rosberg in the battle for the title. If Hamilton wins the race with Rosberg finishing in 2nd, where he qualified, then the Brit would be just four points behind his teammate.

The three time world champion actually had his first timed lap taken off him after not sticking to the track limits, something the FIA said they would have a zero tolerance on this weekend.

Those rulings seemed to be very inconsistent with some drivers having times deleted and others getting away with it whilst Kevin Magnussen saw his time deleted in Q2 despite going off not on one of the corners that were specified by race control.

Hamilton got his fourth pole in at Silverstone finishing over three tenths of a second ahead of his teammate with the Red Bulls of Verstappen and Ricciardo in third and fourth followed by Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel though Vettel will take a five place grid penalty.
