As one of the finest players to ever grace the NBA, it's only fitting that Kobe Bryant went out in a blaze of glory, and 'Black Mamba' single handedly destroyed the Utah Jazz during the LA Lakers' 101-96 victory at the Staples Centre, last night, scoring 60 points in the process.

Bryant, 37, has spent his entire career with the Lakers, winning five NBA Championships and being named in the NBA All Star first team for 18 of his 20 seasons as a pro (four times being named the MVP for the all star game). In his two decades in LA he has become the leading points scorer in the Lakers' history At 34 years and 104 days of age, Bryant became the youngest player in league history to reach 30,000 career points.

In front of a sell out crowd at the Staples Centre last night, with the likes of Jack Nicholson, Snoop Dogg and Kanye West in attendance, Bryant put on one final vintage display as he pulled down the curtain on one of the most glittering careers in NBA history.

And the legendary Laker started and began his career in exactly the same fashion. Nothing but net..
