Social media has become a great place for people wanting to stay anonymous but when you're a well known basketball player it's hard not to get mentioned when you comment on someone's picture, especially when it's your former teammate's wife.

The world of social media has its pluses and minuses, especially when it comes to sports and our favourite sports stars.

Of course it allows us to get closer to them, get their insight into things and allow them to get their personality across when usually they're just answering questions in a robotic way.

The flip side to that is that it makes it far easier for them to get in trouble by tweeting the wrong thing or even liking the wrong tweet, which causes all sorts of transfer rumours.

One thing people do tend to forget is the fact that if you follow someone and they comment on a post with a lot of comments then whatever they've posted is more likely to appear under the picture in question.

That's something that Minnesota Timberwolves' shooting guard Jimmy Butler apparently forgot. Butler commented on a post by former teammate Dwayne Wade's wife Gabrielle Union with a rather thirsty comment but ended being called up on it by Wade:

Wade and Butler played together at the Chicago Bulls in 2017 with Wade then moving on to the Cleveland Cavaliers, before his return to the Heat, and Butler signing for the Timberwolves where he still is.

Wade's contract with the Heat ended at the end of last season and he's currently still a free agent with rumours suggesting he could sign on with his former side for a final year before retirement, although he suggested that wouldn't be the case on Twitter.

Butler would do well to stay off social media for a while.
