Idiot!

Ryan Lochte sure did make himself one of the most famous stories of the Rio Olympics but it wasn't for some excellent athletic feat it was for lying about being held at gunpoint by robbers during The Games. Now the American swimmer has had his punishment handed down by USA Swimming.

Lochte and three fellow swimmers claimed that they'd been on the way back from a night out when they were held at gunpoint by people pretending to be the police in an armed robbery. However it was soon revealed that the four Olympians had actually been at a petrol station when they broke a door of a toilet and vandalised the place before security guards threatened them with guns.

The 12 time Olympic medalist came in for lots of criticism and Brazilian officials were annoyed that the reputation of the country had been damaged for a false story. According to TMZ Sport the swimmer has been handed a 10 month suspension with the decision being agreed by the US Olympic Committee, IOC and US Swimming.

Lochte is expected to miss the World Championships in 2017 as part of his punishment but at 32 the suspension is far from a career ending punishment. The Rochester born athlete has had his sponsorship deals with Speedo, Gentle Hair Removal and Airweave cancelled whilst Ralph Lauren didn't renew after the Olympics.

Gunnar Bentz, Jack Conger and James Feigen, the other three swimmers involved in the incident, have been suspended for four months and they were the men who had to face Brazilian police for further questioning after evidence to refute their story came out because Lochte was back in America already.

The four men were utter morons and deserve their punishments!
