Could Michael Bisping welcome Georges St-Pierre back to the octagon?

The newly-minted UFC champion is still processing life as title holder following his long storied career. After fighting through set backs and medical loopholes, the British middleweight finally got his chance to fulfill his destiny when he replaced Chris Weidman taking on Luke Rockhold. Following his first-round demolition of the American, attention turns to Bisping's first defense with no shortage of opponents.

Rockhold rubber match? Henderson rematch? 'Jacare'?

One surprising name which has emerged as a contender is Georges St-Pierre. The former UFC welterweight champions retired in 2013, yet has been teasing a possible return. According to Bisping a fight with the Canadian could come to fruition after initial talks have taken place. Speaking exclusively to TheSPORTbible, he claimed;

"Georges St-Pierre is looking for the biggest fights possible, and I have had some people approach me. GSP is an amazing athlete, he's amazing fighter and if he wants to come out of retirement and get knocked out, then were all good. That why it's an interesting fight, GSP has 19 wins I have 19 wins, I guess you can promote it as the most successful fighter in the UFC. GSP is an incredible fighter, and would be an honour to share the octagon with him"

The 37-year-old has made no secret about expressing his desire to fight in Manchester;

"Well, when you are the champion you get to call the shots, so I'm telling you right now my next fight is going to be in Manchester."

The Ultimate Fighter Winner seems confident the promotion will return to Manchester, having made their last trip in October of 2013.
