The women of WWE are making even more history, with it now looking as though the WWE Raw Women's Championship match between familiar foes Sasha Banks and Charlotte will now be the main event for the WWE's Hell in a Cell pay-per-view.

The match was made as one of three matches to take place inside the deadly structure that is Hell in a Cell last week and Raw General Manager Mick Foley appeared to confirm that Sasha and Charlotte will not only be the first female competitors to take part in a Hell in a Cell match, for the first time ever a women's match will main event a WWE pay-per-view. Foley has since changed his statement but everything points towards Sasha and Charlotte main eventing.

The dynamic duo already made history when they put on a clinic in the main event of Raw and now their rivalry goes one step further in two weeks time in Banks' hometown of Boston.

A portion of wrestling fans feel that WWE are doing this match just for the sake of making history. While that has been the bulk of the build up so far, this is a match and feud that warrants the Hell in a Cell stipulation, with two talents who deserve to be in the main event spot.

Sasha Banks and Charlotte have a whole lot of history together, they were allies in NXT for a considerable amount of time alongside Summer Rae and then parted company - which brought a number of incredible matches that showcased the supreme talents of both women.

Sasha pinned Charlotte to win the NXT Women's Championship in an impressive fatal four-way featuring fellow 'Four Horsewomen' members Bayley and Becky Lynch.

And it wasn't long before they renewed their rivalry on WWE's main stage, with Sasha and Charlotte part of a historic triple-threat match for the newly introduced Women's Championship alongside Becky Lynch at Wrestlemania 32. Charlotte prevailed on this occasion but it wasn't long before Sasha was challenging again on an excellent post-brand split episode of Raw on July 25, where the Boss scored the win over Charlotte.

Their next two bouts saw a title change in each one. At Summerslam, Charlotte took advantage of Sasha's back problems and recaptured the title at the first time of asking.

After Charlotte retained her title in a triple-threat match at Clash of Champions by pinning Bayley and not previous title holder Sasha, the 24-year old won the title for a second time via her tried and trusted 'Bank Statement' finisher in the main event of Raw on October 3 - leading to this upcoming historic showdown at Hell in a Cell.

Hell in a Cell is the ultimate way to close out a chapter in a legendary feud, as seen in captivating battles such as Mankind vs The Undertaker at King of The Ring 1998, Triple H vs Cactus Jack at No Way Out 2000 and The Undertaker vs Triple H at Wrestlemania 28.

Sasha Banks and Charlotte have the chemistry and abilities to create something very special on October 30. I, like many WWE fans hope that this is not just a match that takes place with a cell surrounding it - it's incredibly difficult to differentiate a Hell in a Cell match because we have seen so many over the years. The fact that they are likely to be in the main event after fans would have watched two other cell matches means that they must display a whole new level of risk and brutality, but if there's any two female talents who can deliver just that it's these two.

Trish Stratus vs Lita is often talked about as the best rivalry between women's wrestlers in WWE, but if Sasha and Charlotte can raise their game once more inside Hell in a Cell in the main event of a pay-per-view, they may well eclipse the work done by Trish and Lita.
