Eden Hazard Has Correctly Predicted Half Of The World Cup

Eden Hazard Has Correctly Predicted Half Of The World Cup

Belgium star Eden Hazard is not just a great player - he's also a mystic. Before the tournament started, he picked half of the World Cup

We might be sunning ourselves and fretting about the England match, but on the other side of the draw, the results are in.

France cruised past Uruguay after a shocking goalkeeping error, while Belgium shocked Brazil with one of the performances of the tournament so far to book their place in the last four.

One of the stars of that match - and of just about every Belgium match - was Chelsea attacking midfielder Eden Hazard, and it turns out that not only is he one of the world's best footballers, he's also a clairvoyant.

No, really.

Eden posted a wall chart of his team's path to the World Cup Final three weeks ago, before the tournament even began, showing them overcoming Brazil in the quarters, France in the semis and then defeating England to take the Jules Rimet trophy back to Brussels.

Step aside, Paul the Octopus, there's a new soothsayer in town.

Granted, Hazard didn't get everything right. He got Uruguay beat Portugal and then losing to France, he got England beating Colombia and he got Brazil beating Mexico - so kudos to him for that.

However, he also had Argentina making it to the semis, France getting past Nigeria (and thus Croatia going out at the groups) and Germany falling to England in the Round of 16.

As I'm sure you'll all remember, Germany were hilariously punted out at the group stage at the expense of today's opponents.

The good news is that, if mystic Eden is to be believed, then England will beat Sweden today and then make it to the World Cup Final for the first time since 1996.

The bad news, obviously, is that they'll lose there, to Belgium, in an in no way politically symbolic clash in Moscow a week on Sunday.
