Brock Lesnar became a formidable force during his career in college wrestling and was ruthless in a match against Todd Munson in 1999.

The 42-year-old has since become a worldwide superstar in WWE and enjoyed a prolific career in the UFC.

But the 'Beast' wasted no time in exerting his dominance on the college wrestling scene and was a man to be feared.

Lesnar, who was representing the University of Minnesota, came up against Oklahoma State University's Munson during a match.

And the ex-UFC superstar took apart Munson with a dominant display that included a quick-witted moment where he broke through the grapple, grabbed his left leg and hoisted him in the air with ease.

Lesnar waited before he slammed his opponent to the floor and continued to dominate him over the course of the match.

The WWE champ captured the National Junior College Athletic Association's Heavyweight Championship in 1998 and was also a two-time NJCAA All-American.

He was also a two-time National Collegiate Athletic Association All-American, two-time Big Ten Conference champion and the NCAA heavyweight champion.

Lesnar's record stood at a staggering 106-5 after his four years of college.

The former UFC heavyweight champ, whose career earnings from his UFC career were revealed, told Sports Illustrated that building his strength at a young age was a pivotal part of his success.

"All I wanted to do was get big and strong," he recalled.

"I was amazed by guys like Arnold Schwarzenegger, and I'd always be doing push-ups and pull-ups at home.

"On the farm, I tried to be a workhorse because I knew if I could cut it on the farm, I could cut it anywhere."

However, former University of Minnesota wrestling coach Jay Robinson believes what set Lesnar apart from his competition was that "he learned how to wrestle at the lower weights."

He told Sports Illustrated in 2000: "A lot of people don't realize how quick and agile he is."

Muscle & Strength broke down Lesnar's 'hardcore' MMA workout and it showed the commitment that he has continued to maintain since his college wrestling days.
