The 25-year-old - who was given odds of 2,000/1 to win the tournament before the match - fell 2-1 down but managed to turn the tide on the match and stun the crowd as she defeated Evetts, who is ranked 77 in the world.

Sherrock is the fifth woman to take part in the men's PDC Championships.

She earned her place by winning the UK and Ireland women's qualifying event.

Sherrock now goes on to face Austria's Mensur Suljovic in the second round.

Her tweeting for the night didn't end there as what she'd achieved began to sink in.

She also couldn't believe she was going to be on Good Morning Britain the following day.

One comment which stood out said: "Big Congratulations to Fallon Sherrock last night very deserving victory on the biggest stage in the world of darts."

You have to wonder how far she can go in the tournament after this historic victory.
