Sam Allardyce's very brief tenure as manager of the England national team is officially over. The Football Association have released a statement confirming the 61-year-old has left his position by mutual consent.
Allardyce's position as boss of the Three Lions became untenable after he was snared in an undercover sting orchestrated by the Daily Telegraph.
The FA described Allardyce's conduct as 'very inappropriate of the England manager' whilst adding the former West Ham manager 'accepts he made a serious error of judgement'.
The much travelled manager was called to Wembley for an emergency meeting this morning to explain his actions to FA chairman Greg Clarke and chief executive Martin Glenn.

There were reports circulating earlier that Allardyce would jumped before he was pushed, but the party line is 'mutual'.
It has also been confirmed that Gareth Southgate will be in temporary charge for the next four games, or until someone captures him doing 34mph in a 30mph zone.
