Controversial MMA Fighter Viacheslav Datsik Released From Prison And Instantly Called Someone Out

Conor McGregor certainly has some outrageous moments in him but it's fair to say the former two weight UFC champion has nothing on Russia's Viacheslav Datsik, who was released from a mental institution and straight away called someone else out.

Viacheslav Datsik is unlikely to be amongst your favourite MMA fighters, there's a very good chance you haven't heard of the 42 year old Russian, but it's safe to say that he's one of the sports more unusual characters.

The Russian first came to prominence in his debut in MMA when he faced Andrei Arlovski in 1999. Arlovski would go on to become UFC heavyweight champion and face some of the biggest names in the division.

Datsik on the other hand would never fight in UFC and would only have a career record of 15 fights, six wins, with two of his losses by disqualification.

In 2004 he moved over to kickboxing where he managed a better career and earned a 6-1 record. In 2006, after his last fight, he seemed to disappear and there were claims he'd died in a train crash.

However a year later those rumours were put to bed when he was detained for his part in armed robbery in St Petersburg. It was concluded to suffer from schizophrenia and avoided criminal charges but was detained in a mental institute.

He actually escaped a low-security psychiatric clinic in 2010 by ripping a hole in a fence with his own bare hands where he then fled to Norway before being arrested by authorities there.

At one point during his time in prison in Norway it was again reported that he had died, this time during a fight, but that wasn't the case.

Datsik has recently been released and it seems that he's already looking for a new opponent, despite not fighting since 2006.

It's fair to say that the Russian makes anything Conor McGregor do look tame.
