Lionel Messi can secure a higher rating than arch-rival Cristiano Ronaldo in the demo for eFootball Pro Evolution Soccer 2020.

Publisher Konami dropped the demo on 30th July and it features partners Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus and Barcelona.

Barcelona superstar Messi, 32, and Juventus ace Ronaldo, 34, both have a 94 overall in PES 2020.

But RealSport has found that Messi can climb to a whopping 95 rating should he be deployed as a centre forward.

The Argentine ace has been played out on the right in support of Barcelona striker Luis Suarez, but he was a formidable force when he was played more centrally or as a 'false nine.'

Ronaldo features as a left winger in the demo, but he was used as a striker under former Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri last season.

Aside from their player ratings, both five-time Ballon d'Or winners have incredible stats and skills in the demo.

The PES 2020 publisher could tweak the ratings before the full release of the title in September.

And Juventus might want Ronaldo to be the highest-rated player in PES 2020 after signing an exclusive partnership with Konami.

EA Sports has lost out on licensing Juventus in FIFA 20 and will rebrand the club as Piemonte Calcio, which will have custom-made kits and badges.

Messi, who is in contention for a record-breaking sixth Ballon d'Or, enjoyed a stellar individual season for Barcelona as he scored 36 times in the league to win his sixth European Golden Shoe.

The Barcelona captain might have suffered heartbreak with his side's humiliating Champions League exit at the hands of Liverpool, but he led his side to the La Liga title.

Ronaldo also made an instant impact in his first season in Serie A as he scored 21 times in the league and Juventus would capture both the Scudetto and the Supercoppa Italiana.

PES 2020 is slated to launch worldwide on 10th September for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Should Messi be rated higher than Ronaldo?
