Barcelona star Lionel Messi, who ranked third in Goal's best players for 2019-20 season, is predicted to climb back to the top of the football world this season.
FM21's experiment found that the 33-year-old Argentine superstar scored 17 times and registered 18 assists in the experiment.
And six-time Ballon d'Or winner Messi was still named the best player in the world, despite Real Madrid beating Barcelona to the La Liga title.
