Thomas Muller Wanted By Three Premier League Giants

Thomas Muller Wanted By Three Premier League Giants

After enduring what was comfortably his worst individual season in his career, Thomas Muller is being linked with a move away from Bayern Munich.

Though the World Cup winner did get his hands on the Bundesliga trophy for the fifth successive season, he struggled to replicate the sort of goalscoring form he had been producing in previous seasons.

Since making his breakthrough in 2010/11, Muller has reached double figures in all competitions in every season he has featured - including a career-best tally of 32 goals in 49 games.

But it was a different story completely last term, as for the first time in his professional career, Muller failed to score at least ten goals in all competitions having only managed nine. Five of those goals came in the 29 Bundesliga outings he featured in, and it certainly doesn't make for great reading for Muller.

And the story from German outlet BILD is that despite appearing to be happy at the Allianz Arena, where he is under contract until 2021, four clubs are showing interest in Muller.

Juventus, whom Bayern have a great working relationship having negotiated deals for the likes of Arturo Vidal, Kingsley Coman, Mehdi Benatia and most recently Douglas Costa, are one of the clubs named.

The other three sides are from the Premier League, with Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal all linked.

Of the three, Chelsea would appear to be the most desperate to sign him given that Diego Costa is expected to return to Atletico Madrid, and the club are on the look-out for a world-class striker after missing out on Romelu Lukaku, and a deal for Real Madrid's Alvaro Morata looking dead in the water.

However, Bayern CEO Karl Heinz-Rummenigge has ruled out the possibility of selling Muller, who has been instated as captain for the club's pre-season fixtures, taking on the armband from the retired Philipp Lahm.

"Both the club and Thomas agree on the assessment of last season - it wasn't a good one," he said to Bild.

"[But] Thomas is still not for sale because he's a perfect fit for Bayern. This is not a matter of discussion.

"Thomas knows that he has to deliver a bit more, but this isn't a problem."
