PSG Willing To Sacrifice Their Own Star To Secure ‘Operation Messi’

Paris-Saint Germain remain optimistic on landing Lionel Messi if he fails to agree new terms with Barcelona.

Reports suggest they would be willing to offload their own talisman to enable the deal.

AS Journalist Andres Onrubia claims that the French giants are still interested in 'Operation Messi' and would be forced to sell Kylian Mbappe this summer to materialise the deal.

The French wonderkid has reportedly informed PSG that he won't extend his deal which expires in 2022.

Therefore, the Parisians will seek a sale for Mbappe and splash the cash on Messi's wages.

Barcelona will allegedly have to pay £170m in wages if Messi decides to pen a new contract this summer.

However, Barcelona find themselves short of cash as they try to cope with financial pressures caused by the coronavirus pandemic.

The reality of Messi signing a new deal seems unrealistic now that Barcelona have announced the signings of Memphis Depay, Sergio Aguero and Eric Garcia.
