It may be almost an impossible idea for Arsenal fans and Arsene Wenger to even bear thinking about, but the Gunners need to adopt Jose Mourinho's mentality. According to Petr Cech, anyway.
The North London club have endured a drab start to the new season, losing two of their opening three Premier League games, including a 4-0 hammering at Liverpool, 10 days ago.
The poor start has heaped even more pressure on Wenger, who many Arsenal fans protested vehemently against last season before the Frenchman signed a new two-year contract after leading the club to their 13th FA Cup triumph, at the expense of Chelsea, in May.

And Cech, an £11 million arrival from Chelsea in 2015, has contrasted Arsenal's mentality with that of Mourinho, with whom the Czech stopper lifted three Premier League titles, three League Cups and an FA Cup at Stamford Bridge.

Via Metro, the 35-year-old goalkeeper said, "When he [Mourinho] arrived at Chelsea from Porto, he brought the main thing: he came from a club where he not acceptable to him to finish second of the championship.
"He brought the same spirit in Chelsea. He thinks only about victory, whatever the price.
"He hates draws. If we returned to the dressing room with a draw, it was known that he would not be satisfied.
"On the other hand, he also wanted be able to keep a 1-0 or beat a team 5-0 if possible. No matter how, Mourinho wants the result.

"The philosophy at Arsenal is completely opposed to this: it is not win at all costs but we want to win with a good way of playing. This is beginning to change in our approach."

It will be hard for Arsenal fans to deny that what Cech is saying is true, but for a club that have been so diametrically opposed to Mourinho's tactics and philosophies as the Gunners have, the words will be hard to swallow for a lot of Arsenal fans and may not appreciate Cech lauding Mourinho's success over them.
