Chelsea fans should look away now - a compilation of Timo Werner's woeful finishing since moving to Stamford Bridge has hit social media.

The Blues snapped up Werner in the summer for £47.5m after the German had scored 32 goals in all competitions for RB Leipzig last season.

He's found the going tougher in West London, finding the net just four times in 11 Premier League games and was guilty of an horrendous miss in Saturday's 3-1 win over Leeds.

The 24-year-old inexplicably prevented Olivier Giroud's goalbound header from going in and then proceeded to fire the ball against the bar from a yard out.

That latest mishap has led to the creation of a savage video exposing his poor finishing this season.

In fairness, it can take time for foreign players to find their feet on these shores and his reputation in the Bundesliga is not to be sniffed out. You wouldn't bet against him finding his feet before long but, until he does, rival supporters will continue to mock.

Werner had been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool before signing for Chelsea. And Reds legend John Barnes says Jurgen Klopp was right to sign Diogo Jota from Wolves instead.

"From the financial point of view, Liverpool would have paid the £48m that Chelsea have for Werner without a problem," Barnes told BonusCodeBets.co.uk.

"But maybe Werner wanted to guarantee that he was going to play every single week, which he does at Chelsea, and he may not necessarily have got that at Liverpool.

"Jota is playing well, not just because he's a really good player, but because he's happy to not play every game and he's got the right attitude.

"What Klopp does with all the players is he looks at a player that can fit into what he wants, and he knew Jota could do what he wanted. The way Liverpool play perfectly suits Jota."
