It was a bit of a surprise when Harry Redknapp joined Birmingham City at the end of last season, in some ways more so when he kept them up, but this season he hasn't lasted long at all.
Last season the former QPR manager, who hadn't been seen as a manager in this country since his spell there ended because of a knee injury- with the club in a dreadful position, took over from Birmingham to keep them up.
Because of a last day win over Bristol City he kept the Blues in the Championship. This season the target was much bigger, get them out of the second tier of football but in the good way.

Redknapp signed 14 players this summer and recently expressed no worries in getting the St Andrews side into the play-offs but their form has been woeful and the 70 year old has paid with his job:
Today, in his last game in charge, the former Spurs manager oversaw a 3-1 home loss against Preston North End and they've only won once in the first eight games, against Bristol City.
The one time candidate for the England manager's job leaves the former Premier League club second bottom of the Championship with only Bolton Wanderers below them.

Twitter was quick to react:
If only he'd brought in Niko Kranjcar, Peter Crouch and Jermain Defoe!
