Stats Prove That Joe Rogan's Deal With Spotify Was Worth Every Penny

Stats Prove That Joe Rogan's Deal With Spotify Was Worth Every Penny

Rogan signed an exclusive deal with streaming service Spotify just over a year ago and it's certainly working out for the UFC commentator.

Joe Rogan's huge exclusive deal with Spotify, signed last year, has proved the correct decision with the UFC commentator's listeners only growing.

Rogan signed a $100 million deal with the streaming service in late 2020, meaning that listeners could only tune into the podcast on Spotify.

The controversial 54-year-old hasn't changed the 'Joe Rogan Experience' format since the move, although he, and his fans, want there to be a comments section added, with many of them missing out on being able to comment as they could when it was on YouTube.

Other than that though, things are clearly going swimmingly for Rogan and Spotify, with 'JRE' bringing in 4.5% of all the podcast listeners to the service, according to BusinessInsider.

As well as that, the show has reportedly been in the number one slot in their personal podcast charts for every months since it joined the platform in September 2020.

2.66 million listeners tuned in to listen in the first month that it was exclusive, which was just three months after Spotify were able to stream the show at all.

The company owned by Daniel Ek, who tried to buy Arsenal earlier this year, have attempted to compete with Apple as the leaders in podcasts, and signing Rogan up was their first step.

They have since signed other popular shows up exclusively but none of them have proved as popular as the comedian's, who is also known for hosting Fear Factor, as well as his UFC duties.

It's not all be plain sailing for Rogan with his podcast, with talk of people inside Spotify not being comfortable with some of the hosts controversial views.

The straight white man with more listeners on Spotify than anyone else claimed that straight white men would be cancelled by 'woke culture,' apparently without seeing any irony at all.

His views on Covid-19 have also caused controversy, with the New Jersey born host being slammed by President Biden for telling young people not to get the vaccine, which he then backtracked on.

Rogan actually got the virus last week and took to social media to reveal the strange methods he'd been using in an attempt to fight the virus.

And yet millions every week still tune in to listen to Rogan on Spotify, making him worth every penny of the $100 million!
