Monster-Sized Alligator Interrupts Golf Game By Invading Course

Monster-Sized Alligator Interrupts Golf Game By Invading Course

We thought Jurassic Park was just fiction...

A monstrous, Jurassic Park-sized alligator has taken a casual stroll across a golf course in Florida to the shock of passing golfers.

We're used to seeing a dangerous Tiger roam the golf greens, but this 10-foot-plus reptile was something else. The beast waddled menacingly through the tee boxes as if he owned the course. Are you going to tell him he doesn't?

Thankfully, rain meant play was clearly slow, but passing golfers videoed this whopper as they carted past (presumably as fast as possibly could). Check out this hulking behemoth.

"Holy..." commented one golfer, wisely leaving the rest unsaid. "This guy, out for a stroll. Oh, my God!"

This gator/living sci-fi experiment was spotted at Valencia Golf & Country Club in Naples, Florida, by club pro Jeff Jones. Hopefully the river lair it's heading back towards isn't a regular water hazard on the course. Because the last thing we want to do is hook the ball right into this green machine.

Gators have shown up on golf courses before now. Perhaps this new giant is a relative of Chubbs, who has made his considerable presence felt at Buffalo Creek Golf Course in Palmetto.

Elsewhere, two alligators once got into a fight on the 18th hole on a course in South Carolina. Which would at least give you motivation to hole-out sharpish.

Can someone please give these gators a few irons, some balls and a golf cart so they can get on with the round they so clearly want to play?

Coincidentally, the Masters began today in Augusta. No sign of any alligator participation as yet while Tiger (Woods) looks to defend the title he won in 2019. But there are still four days of play to complete.

If the 'Naples nightmare' suddenly rocks up on the first hole on Sunday, we'd just give him the green jacket then and there - or get Brock Lesnar to come and wrestle him off the course and put the whole thing on pay-per-view.

Just when you thought 2020 couldn't get any crazier, eh?
