Kieran Tierney joked that Conor McGregor 'can do it all' and would be a perfect 'non nonsense' centre-back for Arsenal.
Tierney, who has recently signed a new five-year contract at Arsenal, took part in a Twitter Q&A where he was asked a variety of questions.
The Arsenal player's relationship with McGregor has developed over the years due to the UFC fighter's links to Celtic.
Despite McGregor being a lifelong Manchester United fan, he has always been fond of Celtic and consequently Tierney.
In 2018, McGregor was even pictured wearing a Tierney shirt in training and later said that the Arsenal and Scottish left-back was his favourite player.
When Tierney was asked about McGregor's potential on the pitch and what position he would play for Arsenal, he said: "Centre half. No nonsense. Put the fear in everyone. Seen him upfront as well, great goal scorer. Can do it all."
Whilst it is unlikely that we will be seeing McGregor strut onto the pitch at the Emirates anytime soon, he has increasingly shown a desire to get involved on the business side of football.
In recent years, McGregor has attempted to buy shares from Celtic owner Dermot Desmond and showed potential interest in Manchester United.
He said: "A conversation came up regarding Celtic first to be honest. To acquire shares from Dermot Desmond.
"I am certainly interested in acquiring a sports team at some stage! Both Celtic and Man United are teams I like for sure. But I am open. I feel I could do big things for a club."
Since Tierney has agreed to extend his stay in North London, his Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta revealed to the club website how delighted he was about the left-back's decision: "This is great news for us. As manager of the club, speaking on behalf of the entire staff, it's a pleasure to work with Tierney.
"His quality, energy, commitment and professionalism, not only on matchdays, but every day in training are always at such a high level.
"Tierney gives us so much extra strength both defensively and offensively and it's great to know that he'll be with us for the long term."
