The Cadiz striker made his La Liga debut against Valencia at the weekend, coming on for former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo.

Cadiz striker Pedro Benito made his professional debut on Saturday, after already collection over a million followers whilst becoming a hit on TikTok.

Benito came on as a substitute in a rather uninspiring 0-0 draw, in which Valencia had much of the possession and out shot their opponents 16 to two.

It would have usually been a pretty unremarkable match for a 21-year-old forward to make his debut for Cadiz, especially off the bench, but Benito isn't any normal footballer.

The Spaniard, son of former Cadiz player Alberto Benito, has already captured an audience of 1.4 million on TikTok, and a further 100,000 subscribers on YouTube, before he even kicked a ball.

On the weekend, he came on to replace former Manchester City striker Alvaro Negredo, and took to Twitter to express how he felt making his first appearance.

"Debuting in the Primera Division is a dream for every child but doing it by replacing one of your childhood idols is something that I will never be able to explain.

"Thank you all to everyone for accompanying me on this journey and the Cadistas for their love.

"We have fulfilled a dream but I don't want it to end there."

The 21-year-old has already had quite he football journey, going from Almeria to Cypriot club Anorthosis, and then Swansea City.

He then moved to the US and spent time with Oklahoma Wesleyan University FC and the Gardner-Webb Bulldogs, before moving back to Spain with Cadiz.

Speaking previously, Benito revealed that playing for the club was always his dream, "My goal is to be a professional footballer, and one of my dreams is to play with Cadiz in the Primera Division," the new Cadiz striker said.

"From when I was little I have always imagined it.

"I was born in Cadiz and lived there while my father was a player and sporting director.

"I was there for about 10 years.

"My contact with football was from there and I began to live as a fan of the club since I was little.

"I have been a Cadista (Cadiz fan) at heart and since I was a kid I have always tried to follow all the matches."
