How LeBron James Could Influence Coutinho's Move To Barcelona

How LeBron James Could Influence Coutinho's Move To Barcelona

Usually LeBron is busy making a difference in the NBA play-offs. Now he could make a difference in the biggest transfer left in the window.

This transfer window has been a weird one. Whether it's huge prices for players, teams hitting back at player power, clubs selling to their rivals or Barcelona acting like a third rate team it's all a bit strange. Now LeBron James could be instrumental in Philippe Coutinho's possible transfer.

Philippe Coutinho's possible transfer from Liverpool to Barcelona seems to be on some continuous loop that feels like it will never end, or at least not until Thursday- which actually isn't too far away.

News comes from Coutinho's camp, news comes from Barcelona on a bid, rejection from Liverpool, debate between taking the money or not and repeat. Ocassionally there's a claim from Spanish or Brazilian news that a bid has been accepted, just to spice things up.

Well if you were looking for something to change how about throwing in new of NBA superstar LeBron James, with perhaps the biggest transfer swerve in history.

According to Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo King James, a shareholder in the Reds since 2011, has spoken to owners the Fenway Group and told them to open negotiations with Barca over the transfer.

Imagine if somehow of all the things it's LeBron James that manages to convince the Anfield club to sell. Image: PA

It's a frankly ludicrous situation and it surely just smacks of Spanish press being desperate once again, as with their occasional claims that Jurgen Klopp's team have accepted a deal to sell the 25 year old.

Despite being a Liverpool shareholder it seems that the Cleveland Cavaleirs' forward did post a picture of himself in a Barcelona shirt on social media before deleting the post:

I simply can't get over the idea that LeBron James might be the secret to Barcelona finally securing the services of Coutinho after a summer haplessly trying to get Liverpool to sell.

Maybe the three time NBA champion was working as a secret agent for Barca all along and that's the only reason he got himself shares in the Reds from the start.

When this transfer window ends this somehow won't be the most ridiculous story of it and that sums everything up!
