WATCH: Serge Aurier Pulls Off The Most Ridiculous Piece Of Defending

An interesting introduction for Spurs new signing, making his debut in the Champions League win at Wembley.

When your club has first signed a new player there's always a real intrigue to find out exactly what they're all about. Well Spurs fans got an excellent view of Serge Aurier tonight with his inventive defending.

In the summer Kyle Walker briefly became the most expensive defender of all time when he moved from Spurs to Manchester City for around £50 million.

Just days later he was usurped from his position on that list by Benjamin Mendy joining him at the Etihad. Spurs though had a pile of money to replace the English right-back.

For most of the transfer window it felt like Mauricio Pochettino had forgotten to sign anyone and it looked as if Kieran Trippier would be the team's first choice right-back for the season.

Late in the day though the north London side added PSG defender Serge Aurier to their ranks. Tonight the Ivorian made his debut in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund.

And the 24 year old showed exactly what he's all about with the greatest/most ridiculous/weirdest, delete as appropriate, piece of defending by dummying a header in the box on purpose!

The former Toulouse defender didn't go for the most conventional way of clearing his lines but it clearly worked as he raced away from the German side's attack.

Despite conceding after 11 minutes from Yarmolenko, Spurs won 3-1 with Son opening the scoring and Kane grabbing a brace to get rid of the Wembley curse.

The Bundesliga side were unlucky as Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang had a goal disallowed for offside when the Gabonese striker was actually in an onside position.
