Zinedine Zidane wins a trophy, on average, every 97 days as manager of Real Madrid. He may have to wait even less time for his next one but he'll have to do it without Luka Modric for one of the legs.

In just two years as manager of Real the Frenchman has become their fourth best manager of all time when it comes to number of trophies won, after he won the European Super Cup against Manchester United last night.

And Los Blancos might not have to wait too long for their next piece of silverware as their next couple of matches are in the Spanish Super Cup against fierce rivals Barcelona. Basically the Community Shield over two legs.

First up Zidane's side travel to Barcelona for the match on Sunday and then there's the return a week today. Meaning that the two El Clasico rivals will have played three times this summer before the league season kicks off.

Real will have to play the first match without Luka Modric though, for a crazy reason. As reported by Marca the first leg will be bereft of one of its stars because of the two yellow cards the Croatian picked up three years ago in the same competition.

On August 22nd 2014 Real played their cross-city rivals Atletico in the same competition and in the 89th minute of the second like Modric received his marching orders from the referee for a second yellow card.

The Spanish FA gave him a one game ban but based solely in the competition. With Real failing to win the league or Copa del Rey in the intervening years it didn't matter.

With La Liga secured last season and a return to the Super Cup starting this weekend the former Spurs midfielder must now sit through his ban three years since actually getting it.

It's a good job this is being reported on as Real wouldn't want a rerun of the 2015 Copa del Rey when they were kicked out for playing Denis Cheryshev when he was suspended.

You wouldn't have blamed them for forgetting a three year old suspension.
