Watch: The Special Technique Cristiano Ronaldo Used To Take Penalty Last Night

He's on 11 goals in the Champions League this season...

Cristiano Ronaldo scored one of the weirdest penalties we've ever seen in the 3-1 Champions League last 16 first leg win over PSG at the Bernabeu last night.

With the visitors 1-0 up through Adrien Rabiot, holders Real were awarded a first-half penalty when Giovani Lo Celso foolishly pulled back Toni Kroos just inside the area.

What Ronaldo could spend a months wages on...

Ronaldo made no mistake from the spot, with Alphonse Areola getting close to it but the power in the strike being enough for Ronaldo to continue his record of scoring in every Champions League game this season.

At first, the five-time Ballon d'Or winner's penalty looked to be as ordinary as they come but replays showed that before he'd actually struck the ball, it had bounced on the spot.

Plenty of people were confused as to how it had happened:

However, it wasn't exactly black magic that led to the bizarre spot-kick. According to his former teammate Rio Ferdinand, who was in the BT Sport studio covering the game, Ronaldo used to practice that unusual technique in Manchester United training.

As you'll see in the following clip, it's as if he used his left foot to stamp on the turf and pop the ball up, almost volleying home the penalty.

If he did indeed mean it, then it's pure genius from Ronaldo. Here's hoping we get word from the man himself whether or not he did!
