On the 28th March 2017, at around 10:35am, my life flashed before my very eyes. Never had i experienced a piece of news so shocking - so unexpected.

It only feels like yesterday when a young Shaun Wright Phillips was running rings around Premier League defenders for Manchester City but 18 years after making his debut for the Citezens, his son D'Margio Wright-Phillips is making headlines.

At the age of 16, D'Margio has been called up to the England Under-16s squad and it's at this point you wonder what happened to your life.

Since when did Shaun have a son? Why do I feel so old right now? WHAT HAPPENED?!

Of course, we are delighted that D'Margio has been called up to the England side, but it just came as a shock.

Shaun only left City back in August 2011 following his second spell at the club, and now his son is making huge strides in their academy.

The forgotten England XI:

Wright Phillips Jnr is one of Manchester City's biggest prospects as they nurture some of the best talent in Europe.

In fact, 22 of City's academy have international call-ups, with another eight on standby.

Other talented youngsters in City's academy include Tommy Doyle, grandson of club legend Mike, Nathanael Ogbeta and Pascal Kpohmouh.
