Sergio Aguero is following in the footsteps of Rafael Nadal, as he attempts to extend his career after signing for Barcelona.
Aguero ended a decade with Manchester City at the end of last season, finishing his spell at the club as he ended his first season with them, as a Premier League champion.

The conclusion of his legendary spell at the Etihad Stadium was met with tears from manager Pep Guardiola and the striker then joined his former manager's old team.
In his final season in Manchester, the Argentina striker only managed to play 12 games in the league, with only seven as a starter. That was partially down to missing the beginning of the season with a knee injury.
Aguero is clearly trying to avoid that being a problem in the future, and is going through extremes to keep his career going.
According to Marca, the former Atletico Madrid forward has had stem cell treatment on his knees in a bid to sort out any issues.

The treatment for the 33-year-old is supposed to regenerate the cartilage in the joints and was reportedly planned even before he moved to the Nou Camp.
According to the report Dr. Robert Soler did encourage the new signing to have the treatment, with the striker having previously gone under the knife for a knee injury.
Marca report that Barcelona basketball star Pau Gasol, tennis legend Rafa Nadal and footballers Carles Puyol, Martin Odegaard and Erik Lamela have all undergone the treatment in the past.

With just over two weeks to go until the beginning of the new La Liga season, there's no guarantee that Aguero can even play for Ronald Koeman's team yet.
The money troubles at the club led to La Liga president Javier Tebas to threaten that the club won't be able to register their new players without reducing their wage bill.
That also relates to Lionel Messi. The club's all time top goalscorer was officially released by the club when his contract expired on July 1st.

He has reportedly agreed a new deal with a huge wage reduction but nothing has been confirmed as the club are still trying to reduce the wage bill, and he may not be able to play until January.
