LeBron James may be the greatest basketball player that has ever lived and if that wasn't enough for him the Cleveland Cavalier is also winning at investments as Liverpool's current success has won him money.

When your nickname is 'the King' and you play a sport that doesn't tend to have nicknames, unlike darts, snooker and wrestling, then you know you're probably pretty good, which might be an understatement when it comes to LeBron James.

For some only Michael Jordan is better than the 33 year old, for others not even the legendary Chicago Bulls' player, and star of Space Jam, which is obviously his career highlight, is better than LeBron.

The forward has won the NBA championships three times and on all three occasions was the MVP in the play-offs.

But it' not just on the court that James is successful. Money breeds money and his investments have done pretty well in the past, including an investment in Beats headphones.

The King also have an investment in Liverpool FC thanks to a venture with Fenway Sports Partners, who own Liverpool. The NBA star was given a 2% stake in the club rather than $6.5 million.

According to ESPN that decision has paid off with Liverpool's increased value, thanks in part to last night's Champions League semi-final win, meaning that James' stake is now worth $32 million.

ESPN say that The Reds are now worth $1.49 billion and the eighth most valuable football club in the world meaning that LeBron's investment is now worth nearly five times as much as it was when he first got it.

Jurgen Klopp's side could of course further add to their value by winning the Champions League final at the end of this May. They play Real Madrid in Kyiv for the chance to be six times champions.

The Cavaliers are currently in the middle of the end of season play-offs. On Wednesday night they won their own semi-final, beating Toronto Raptors in the first game of the series in the Conference semi-finals.

LeBron's side have lot longer to go before they reach their own final but a double win for The King would certainly go down well with him, and no doubt Liverpool fans too.
