The last thing Manchester United fans want or need right now is any bad news about their most attacking players. However reports in France suggest that Anthony Martial is worried about his future at the club.

Obviously no team could ever do with bad news, even Manchester City who are flying high in the Premier League are hardly begging for bad news but Manchester United fans are probably a bit fed up of it.

Martial was expected to join this list of Manchester United flops when he signed:

Whilst they might still be second in the league, in the Champions League and FA Cup it's not looking likely they'll remain in top two or win either of those competitions and the lack of coherent thinking in the team is getting more obvious by the day.

There's been a couple of bright spots of course and Anthony Martial's form for the team has been one of them. The Frenchman has scored nine Premier League goals so far this season, playing predominantly on the wing.

However now there's bad news regarding Martial's future. According to French outlet RMC the player's contract extension talks have stalled since December and the player feels under appreciated at Old Trafford.

RMC have been pretty good in the past with news about the former Monaco forward, breaking the news when United first made a bid for him and revealing his annoyance at changing numbers when Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined the Red Devils.

The report goes on to say that Alexis Sanchez' move from Arsenal has halted talks between United and Martial and led the 22 year old to hold off on buying a new house in Manchester.

Martial's deal at Old Trafford runs until 2019 so if the club were considering not signing him up to a new deal then they would look to offload him in the summer although they retain the option to extend his deal by one year.

If United did decide to let the player leave then they wouldn't be short of suitors, both Spurs and Inter Milan have shown interest in the past whilst RMC also name Real Madrid as a possible destination, with he club likely to sell Gareth Bale in the summer.

Could Martial actually leave?
