Neymar's time in Paris could be over soon and whilst most people expected his next move to be to Real Madrid but according to reports he wants to move back to Barcelona instead.

It seems a while ago now that Neymar essentially changed the whole landscape of football transfers. When the Brazilian moved from Barcelona to PSG only Gareth Bale and Paul Pogba had cost €100 million or more.

Neymar's transfer release clause was €222 million, which seemed like it would be enough to deter any club from activating it, but PSG felt it wasn't enough to put them off and they splashed the cash.

After that transfer fees went up, the record fee for a goalkeeper, that had stood for over a decade, was broken twice, the record fee for a defender was broken three times and four more players broke the €100 million mark, all within 18 months.

There were rumours in the summer that Neymar could move back to Spain with Real Madrid reportedly interested and he'd have cost upwards of €300 million.

Now it seems he wants to return to Spain but Mundo Deportivo report that he wants a return to the Camp Nou and he wants to get out of Paris because he feels he's being overshadowed by Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe joined Neymar at PSG at the same time last summer, when the teenager was expected to move to Real, and the Parisien has had a better time of things in that period.

The Brazilian picked up and injury during last season and the Frenchman went on to help his country win the World Cup, whilst his domestic colleague was criticised for diving and not contributing enough as Brazil went out to Belgium in the quarter finals.

The report claims that the 26 year old was 'blinded' by the money on offer and promises from Nasser Al-Khelaifi that he would be their number one and win Champions Leagues and Ballon d'Ors.

Initially it was felt the only reason the former Santos forward wanted to leave the Camp Nou was to get out of the shadow of Lionel Messi, now he wants to get out of Mbappe's but surely he'd have the same problem back in Catalunya.
