It's a very ambitious move...

With just under two full days before the transfer window slams shut for English clubs until January rolls around, West Bromwich Albion are attempting to complete one of the best bits of business in the summer window.

As well as wrapping up a £7 million deal for Arsenal defender Kieran Gibbs, according to John Percy from The Telegraph,Tony Pulis is pushing to sign PSG midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak on loan.

A couple of days back, RMC Sport reported that Leicester want Krychowiak to take the place of Danny Drinkwater, who looks set to be a Chelsea player by 11pm on Thursday.

However the latest update, which has also been reported by Stuart James from The Guardian, is that West Midlands will be his most likely destination rather than East, and it would be an excellent signing by West Brom if it materialises.

Poland international Krychowiak is seen as one of the very best defensive midfielders around and is also capable of filling in as a centre-back.

The 27-year old made his name in football thanks to a series of all-action displays in the middle of the park for Sevilla, where he spent two seasons and won the Europa League back to back with the Andalusian outfit.

He returned to France, where he had already played with Bordeaux and Reims, last summer, when he reunited with former boss Unai Emery at PSG after a reported £28 million move.

Krychowiak struggled for game-time last season though, only making 19 appearances in all competitions and after a single season in the French capital, has been made available for transfer this summer, with a whole host of clubs across Europe linked with him.

Talks between West Brom, PSG and the player are said to be progressing well and though nothing is concrete as of yet, the deal is expected to go ahead. Krychowiak teased fans yesterday with the following Tweet, suggesting he is on the move:

In an update, John Percy has Tweeted that via his contacts in France, Krychowiak has flown in for a medical.

Unbeaten West Brom have signed five players so far this summer, including RB Leipzig winger Oliver Burke, Everton midfielder Gareth Barry and Southampton striker Jay Rodriguez.

But the capture of Krychowiak, should it go through, will surely be their best acquisition of the summer.
