Kevin Wimmer's time at Spurs looks to be coming to an end, with West Brom hoping to complete a £15 million move for the defender.

The Austrian international seemed nailed on to leave the club this summer and attracted interest from Southampton, Crystal Palace and Stoke City.

However it's West Brom who have made their move this week.

According to John Percy from The Telegraph, Tony Pulis has swooped in and talks between clubs have reached a promising stage whereby Wimmer could be a West Brom player by the time next week rolls around if negotiations begin to progress.

£15 million is the price being mentioned, though it would likely reach £20 million in total if certain add ons. Still, Wimmer is a cheaper alternative to Middlesbrough's Ben Gibson, who had been heavily courted by West Brom but the Baggies pulled the plug.

Wimmer joined Spurs from Koln in 2015 for a fee of £4.7 million but because of injuries and the fact other players were ahead of him in the pecking order, only made a total of 29 appearances in two seasons, including just four Premier League starts last term.

His expected move to West Brom should open up Spurs' move for Ajax defender Davinson Sanchez, while it could lead to Jonny Evans moving to Manchester City. It was reported yesterday that City had an £18 million bid rejected by West Brom but it's noted that despite genuine interest, it's noted in the report from The Telegraph that West Brom do not wish to sell their skipper and are hopeful of tying the 30-year old down to a new and improved deal.

Should Wimmer sign for West Brom, he will become the club's fourth signing of the summer, following the arrivals of Jay Rodriguez, Ahmed Hegazi and Gareth Barry.
