Barely a day will go by over the next few months without Kylian Mbappe's future being discussed in various gossip columns, with every major club in Europe being credited with an interest in Monaco's 18-year-old goal scoring sensation.

Mbappe found the net once again, last night, finding a way past Gianluigi Buffon during Monaco's Champions League semi-final exit at the hands of Juventus.

The consolation goal against the Bianconeri was the French international's 25th goal in 41 games, this season, a return that has unsurprisingly caught the attention of more than a few managers on the continent.

As is par for the course, Manchester United have been linked with Mbappe's signature, but a former Old Trafford favourite believes the teenager is better off where he is, for the moment.

Dimitar Berbatov, who enjoyed spells with both United and Monaco, lent his punditry skills to BT Sport during last night's semi-final, when he was questioned about the 18-year-old's future.

"It probably is best to stay for another year and develop," the mercurial Bulgarian told host Gary Lineker.

"He's gonna play, if not every game, every other game, he's gonna have time to shine even more."

Berbatov's opinion was shared by his fellow Tottenham and Monaco alumnus, Glenn Hoddle who said Mbappe has to be a first team starter.

"Whether he goes or stays he has to play. He's got to play the majority of the games."

Despite last night's Champions League exit, Mbappe could still finish the season with a major piece of silverware, with Monaco currently sitting atop Ligue 1, three points clear of Paris Saint-Germain and with a game in hand.

Do you agree with the BT pundits or do you believe Mbappe has to go elsewhere at the end of the season to further his career?
