Two Premier League Clubs Set To Pounce On Manchester City Youngster

Pep Guardiola had a pretty decent reputation at Barcelona of bringing players through the youth ranks to be stars in his team. Life at Manchester City so far hasn't allowed him to do the same and now he risks losing one of the most talented players of his generation.

Pedro, Sergio Busquets, Thiago Alcantara, Rafael Alcantara and Sergi Roberto all made their debuts at the Camp Nou under the Guardiola era at Barca, whilst Andres Iniesta, Lionel Messi and Gerard Pique became real fulcrums of the team.

Manchester City have set about trying to recreate La Masia's ways of producing youth players in the last few years but it's so far early in the development and only Kelechi Iheanacho has made much of an impact in the first team so far.

Youngster Phil Foden made an impact for the Citizens in their least local derby ever against Manchester United when they played in America during the early hours of Friday morning, UK time.

But it's another player who is yet to get a chance that is worrying City. Teenager Jadon Sancho has just one year left on his current deal and is yet to agree a new deal and, according to the Independent, Arsenal and Spurs are both circling, hoping to take advantage of the situation.

The two time Premier League champions are reportedly desperate to keep the teenager and have offered him a new three year deal worth £30,000-a-week, a ridiculous wage for a 17 year-old.

The former Watford youngster is worried that the path to the first team is blocked for him at the Etihad and he was initially meant to be going on the club's tour to America but was dropped from the squad.

Sancho's potential move could be helped by a reported desire to head back to London and Spurs tried to include him in the deal that took Kyle Walker to City but to no avail.

Guardiola will be hoping to keep hold of such a talented youth prospect..
