Timo Werner could be about to have the biggest summer of his life and he is one of the most wanted strikers in the world. Now the RB Leipzig forward has confirmed where his future lies.
Not many teams defend the World Cup but in Russia this summer there's every chance that Joachim Lowe's Germany side could become the first team since Brazil in 1962 to do so.
After winning the World Cup in Brazil four years ago, infamously hammering the hosts 7-1 in the semi final, the Germans are join favourites along with Brazil to win the tournament this summer and it's no surprise considering their strength in depth.

One man who could have a big say is Timo Werner. The 22 year old has broken into the Germany first team and bagged seven goals in his first 10 appearances for the national side.
He's been linked to the likes of Liverpool and Manchester United in the Premier League and Real Madrid in Spain, as well as many others. Talking after RB Leipzig's draw with Stuttgart at the weekend the striker was asked if he'd see out his deal that lasts to 2022 and he said:

"Next year, definitely, I will stay in Leipzig."
It's not necessarily the best sign for the Bundesliga club as it very much suggests that his future beyond 2019 isn't looking good in their favour but at least for them it seems he'll stay one more season.
Previous Werner has admitted an interest in playing in the Premier League, telling Four Four Two, "Yes, playing in the Premier League is a dream for me. I would like to play for two or three clubs, and Manchester United are one of those clubs.
"But probably not in the next few years - later, when my English is a little bit better! I'm very comfortable at RB Leipzig, though."

The Premier League has something to look forward to then.
Werner has scored 10 goals in the league this season, adding another six across the Champions League and Europa League, and has caught the eye since moving from Stuttgart for €10 million in the summer of 2016.
If he were to leave anytime soon you can bet he'd fetch far more than €10 million, especially if he wins the World Cup. For now though Leipzig will be keeping hold of him.
