There's One Major Detail Stopping Kylian Mbappe's Move To PSG

The Monaco star is on the verge of joining Neymar to make one of the scariest strike forces in football but it's not done yet.

There's not long to go of the transfer window and yet in the next four and a half days there could still be some absolutely major deals. However Kylian Mbappe's possible move to PSG has hit a road bump.

Already this summer we've some absolutely huge transfers both in terms of money and impact but the transfer window is starting to close before it, and I hate to use too much cliche, 'slams shut' on Thursday night.

Before then we could still see Philippe Coutinho, Alexis Sanchez and Kylian Mbappe find themselves in new surroundings. All three would be moving for massive money for any transfer to actually take place.

The most likely move is Mbappe's from Monaco to PSG with many reporting that he wants to go and that a deal has been reached. So why has there so far been no transfer done?

Well the Guardian report that UEFA are actually holding it up because they aren't convinced the French capital club would pass Financial Fair Play if they signed the teenager, having already signed Neymar for £198 million this summer.

Whilst it's not officially UEFA saying the club can't sign Monaco's youngest ever scorer it's a case of the club being aware that signing Mbappe on the deal that's agreed with their fellow Ligue 1 team could land them in trouble a little further down the road.

UEFA president Aleksander Ceferin said on Friday, "We will try to help [the clubs understand the rules]. We will try to advise them on FFP. But if they don't comply we will punish, and we will punish severely."

The deal for the French international is £143 million meaning that PSG's two new signings would equal £341 million whilst they spent a further €63 million on Edinson Cavani, the third man who would make up their attacking trio.

Their strikeforce would take some stopping but they might have to sell someone before it comes to pass.
