Just when you thought everyone kind of signing announcement had been done, West Ham go and produce something brilliant and out of the ordinary.

The Hammers have confirmed the signing of Portugal international Joao Mario, with the Euro 2016 joining on loan from Inter Milan.

It's a very impressive addition from the East London outfit and it needed an announcement video to go with it.

Fortunately, West Ham's social media honchos didn't disappoint, producing the following West Ham-Super Mario inspired clip to unveil their latest acquisition:

Manchester United's Alexis Sanchez announcement was wonderfully put together, Newcastle United showed their love of former WWE superstar Mr Kennedy with their unveiling of Chelsea's Kenedy - but I think I have to say West Ham's effort takes the cake as far as announcement videos in 2018 are concerned.

Mario, who is the most expensive player to have been sold by a Portuguese club following his reported £38.4 million move to Inter Milan in 2016, takes the No.18 shirt at the London Stadium.

Though he's joined on a loan deal until the end of the season, West Ham do have the option to purchase him permanently for around £35 million.

Commenting on his move to the Premier League when speaking to the official Irons website, he said:

"I am really happy to be here. It's a really amazing experience to join this amazing team and I am just glad to be here.

"It was a fast move. I have spoken with everyone around the team and, for me, it is exciting to play in the Premier League. I spoke with the coach and for me, I am really happy to be training for an amazing coach, also."

Mario went on to reveal that his international teammate Jose Fonte was pivotal in his decision to join.

"Jose explained to me a little more about the club and also the song we have, I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles and that, of course, it was really important for me to join West Ham!

"It's a really historic Club with an amazing stadium and amazing players. I am just trying to know a little bit more about the club every day and now I have some time to know more."
