Spurs Ready To Make Big Offer For Fulham Youngster Ryan Sessegnon

Spurs have a pretty good record in recent times for picking up relatively cheap young English talent and making them even better. Mauricio Pochettino though is ready to spend more money to get Ryan Sessegnon.

Harry Kane might be fully homegrown and not have cost Spurs a penny but on top of the England goalscorer they've also purchased Eric Dier, Dele Alli, Kyle Walker, Danny Rose and Kieran Trippier for next to nothing in recent years and turned them into top Premier League talents.

The north London side made a huge profit and Walker and the rest of them are a big part of the side currently sitting in the top four in the Premier League and still in the FA Cup and Champions League.

Mauricio Pochettino clearly loves a bargain and a chance to improve English talent and play them, so it's a shame that he's not England manager really as he'd get them all free, and according to reports he hopes to be at it again in the summer, although it might not be a bargain this time.

Even in today's market £35 million for a 17 year-old untested in the Premier League seems like a lot of money but with 13 goals in the Championship already this season it would seem like the winger, who can also play left-back, would be worth it.

Whilst the fee would make the player Spurs second most expensive signing ever, behind Davison Sanchez, Fulham are hoping they can gain promotion and keep hold of the player and could demand closer to £50 million if they go up to the Premier League.

The west London side currently sit in fifth in England's second tier but are seven points clear of Middlesbrough in seventh so should go on to secure a play-off place, with only Cardiff City and Millwall ahead of them on form.

If Fulham stay in the Championship then it's likely that they would be forced to sell and then would hope for a bidding war between Spurs and United, who have long been linked with Sessegnon too.

Having seen what Pochettino has done for other players' careers there's a good chance Sessegnon would love the chance to play at Spurs' new stadium.
