Ronald Koeman Already Lined Up For Next Managerial Job

After his car crash at Everton the former Southampton manager is already set for his next job in football. Is it a good idea?

Ronaldo Koeman's chair at Goodison Park has barely got cold since he was clenching in horror of watching his side get battered by Arsenal and the former Everton manager is already being lined up for his next job.

A Thursday night defeat to Lyon that left them in trouble in their Europa League group was followed by a humiliating defeat at Goodison Park by Arsenal and Everton decided that was enough to get rid of Ronald Koeman.

It may seem pretty far fetched right now but it's not that long ago that some people were even suggesting that the former Southampton manager could be the man to take over at Barcelona from Luis Enrique.

Instead he carried on in the Premier League and oversaw a £150 million transition at the Toffees but could only lead them to two wins in nine league games and into the relegation zone before losing his job on Monday.

Now though he is already being lined up for his next job. According to Tutto Mercato the Dutchman has been offered the chance to manage the Netherlands national team.

Danny Blind had been doing the job for two years but was sacked earlier this year in the middle of a poor World Cup qualifying campaign with Dick Advocaat taking over until the end of the campaign.

Despite beating Sweden in the last match of the group the Dutch still fell short on goal difference and failed to qualify for next summer's tournament in Russia, the first time they failed to qualify for the tournament since 2002.

Advocaat, the former Sunderland manager, recently spoke to news outlet VI about Koeman potentially being the next permanent manager of the team and said, "I think Ronald would do a very good job. He exudes a certain authority, and I think there are few people in Holland who could object to his appointment.

"If the KNVB ask my opinion, I will recommend him wholeheartedly."

The Dutch job has been somewhat of a poisoned chalice in recent times and they have struggled since Louis van Gaal left the setup in 2014 for Manchester United after leading them to the World Cup semi-finals.
