Louis van Gaal's time in England ended up with him being sacked the same day that he won the FA Cup and whilst he thinks he's done in club management there's one set of circumstances that could see him change his mind.

When Manchester United fans watched Netherlands destroy Spain 5-1 in the World Cup in Brazil they would have got very excited about the football that was headed to Old Trafford, the reality was that at times it barely felt like they'd score five goals a season under the Dutchman.

After David Moyes' travesty of a season things could only get better at Old Trafford but LvG didn't exactly improve them that much, even if he did take the Red Devils into the Champions League in his first season.

Failure to finish in the top four in his second season meant that the FA Cup win couldn't paper of the cracks and he was sacked.

The former Bayern Munich manager hasn't had a job since and it seems like the 66 year old's time as a club manager but speaking to Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf he revealed that there is one reason he'd take a club job in England, saying:

"I will probably not manage a club anymore.

"I would make one exception - if a big English club comes for me, than I would do it. Because then I can get the chance to get one over on Manchester United.''

Van Gaal was signed to United on a three year contract but the poor football style and failure to finish in the top four in his final season at the club meant he left after just two seasons with Jose Mourinho replacing him.

He clearly still feels bitterness over the way that United decided to dump him and appoint Jose Mourinho soon after, very much suggesting that the club had already spoken to the 'Special One' before dumping Van Gaal.

The fortunate thing for United is the fact that the former Barcelona manager is unlikely to get a job at one of the Premier League's leading clubs anytime soon none of the would be likely to embrace his style of football.

He would have got away with his style of football if it wasn't for that pesky Mourinho!
