Cristiano Ronaldo's move from Real Madrid to Juventus means we're waiting for the Champions League winners to take a big running jump into the big transfer swimming pool and make quite the splash, Edinson Cavani could be the first dive in the deep end.

Quite often the transfer window is on the edge of going a bit mad, just waiting for that one big transfer to kick everything off before everyone else comes along for the ride and follows suit.

Of course this summer it's all been a bit different as Cristiano Ronaldo joining Juventus from Real Madrid was one of the earliest signings of the summer, after the World Cup finished.

So now we're basically waiting for Real to replace Ronaldo, because we assume they will. After all there's nothing that Florentino Perez loves more than a big expensive signing, plus Ronaldo scored 44 goals last season and those don't replace themselves.

Eden Hazard and Neymar are both high on their list of replacements but both those players could be difficult to sign, and very expensive, so there might be other targets too.

Tonight Marca Radio are reporting that Los Blancos want to make PSG forward Edinson Cavani a member of their team.

Cavani is PSG's top scorer of all time and makes a front three in the French capital with Neymar and Kylian Mbappe, perhaps the most dangerous front three in world football right now.

However, despite being the club's top scorer, it's realistic to think that the Uruguayan could be the most obtainable of the three right now.

Neymar only joined last summer, for a world record fee, whilst at 19, and being a Parisien, the French champions would be mad to entertain the idea of selling Mbappe.

Cavani scored 28 goals in 32 Ligue 1 appearances last season and then scored three times in the World Cup, including twice against Portugal in the last 16, and his absence in his country's quarter final through injury was likely a major reason for their loss.

There are reports that Karim Benzema could follow Ronaldo out of the Bernabeu but no matter what it's likely that Cavani wouldn't be the only addition.
